As We Feel The Chill of The Fall Weather So Does Our Hair

Updated: Sep 25, 2022

What Do You Need To Do.....

We Know, For Daylight Savings - We Fall Back & Spring Forward. Don't Fall Back On Your Hair

Fall is the introduction to moisture leaving the atmosphere and chilly air moving in

The chill of fall can cause dryness, frizziness and breakage. What can you do to combat it. Are you ready for this? Look at the changes that happen as the weather gets colder, do not ignore the dryness that begins to happen, but, begin to add more moisture.

Let's Start Here

A free and clear scalp cleaned of impurities and product build up. This gives you a clean slate to begin your healthy work for the fall and winter seasons. Of course, to clarify, you can use our When It's Natural's Rhassoul Clay Hair Cleanser. It pulls the impurities out of the scalp and leaves the follicles clear and cuticles nice and soft.

As the weather becomes more cold, breezy and windy, think about silk or satin hair coverings. If you prefer hairwraps, simply put on a silk or satin cap underneath, if the wrap is not already silk or satin. The key is to protect your tresses from the brisk, dry air that can cause damage. Resist the urge to wear your hair out everyday, and give it a chance to get a break from the colder, dryer temperatures. Before you put on a hair covering, add some hair butter or oil to your strands, or a leave in conditioner. When you do this you help your strands gain moisture. Keep in mind what we said in the post about thin oils vs. thick oils; thin oils enter the hair shaft, which, allow moisture to enter your strands. As you observe how your hair begins to behave and react to colder, dryer temperatures, you will begin to see what your hair hungers. It will tell you, but, you have to respond and give it your attention. Continuing the practice of silk and satin fabrics to protect your hair is key. It will help retain length, stop breakage and stop friction that will cause split ends, thinning, brittleness and knots. Become your hair's best friend. It relies on you to know more about it than anyone else.
